The Jewellery of the World exhibition will include The Oriental Collection, inspired by our recent trip to Japan. As well as three further collections inspired by headdresses. The Bokhara Collection with Central Asian influences, The Ladakh Collection based on a unique antique headdress encrusted with turquoise and carnelian, and The Pompom Collection influenced by an antique Chinese Opera Headdress. The exhibition will feature the original objects which have inspired these collections.
For our 31th festival exhibition we present, In Japanese Style. A stunning exhibition celebrating the importance of the Haori, a short kimono jacket originally worn by the Samurai. The exhibition features original Haori silk jackets from Japan, as well as unique Jackets inspired by the Haori, in African print and Indian silk. Also featured cushions, textiles, jewellery, boxes and gifts in Japanese style. This exhibition also explores Shibori, the art of tie dye on fabric in Japan.
